Funeral services for Loretta Kamrath, age 103, of Bismarck, ND, will be Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 12:30 MT at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin, ND. Rev. Rod Kamrath will officiate with burial in the Leith Cemetery at Leith, ND.
Serving as casketbearers are Russel Heim, Steven Heim, Rueben Binder, Brad Persson, Shawn O’Shaughnessy, Jeff Wilson, Michael Kamrath, Jim Erickson, Rob Kamrath, and Brad Beier. Serving as honorary casketbearers are Rhonda Binder, Pamela Heim, Lana Beth Persson, Cheryl Hayes, Carrie Wilson, Christa Erickson, Audra Kamrath, and Shannon Beier.
Loretta C. Heyne was born on November 2, 1915 in Heil, North Dakota to George and Elizabeth (Zimmerle) Heyne. She grew up on a farm south of Heil with her parents and four brothers. Loretta attended school in Grant County. She met the love of her life, Roswell Kamrath on a farm near Heil. They were married on August 21, 1937 in Heil, ND. They lived near Leith where they worked the farm and raised their 4 children. In 1963 they moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where Loretta and Roswell attended a Bible college. From there they served as pastors in various places throughout the United States. In 1981 they semi-retired and moved to Bismarck, ND. In 2010, Loretta entered the Augusta Place in Bismarck and has resided there since.
She loved to embroider and sew afghans. She was also a very wonderful pastor’s wife who worked right along with her husband. Loretta was a loving, Godly woman who was a wonderful example to her family and friends.
Loretta went home to meet her Lord and Savior on December 16, 2018.
Loretta is survived by her children Marlene (Vern) Heim of Steele, ND, Sheila (Robert) O’Shaughnessy of Bismarck, ND, Larry (Shirley) Kamrath of Bismarck, ND, and Rod (Betty) Kamrath of Lake City, MI, brother-in-law Edwin Johnson of Bismarck, ND, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 15 great- great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers and their wives, Arthur (Helen), Emil, August (Mildred), Edwin (Lea), a great grandson, Jordan Erickson, and a grandson-in-law Robert Hayes.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 11:00 to the time of the funeral service at 12:30 at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin.
