Funeral services for Dan Baumgarten, age 76, of Lemmon, SD, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon, SD. Clark Johnson and Pastor Mary Peterson will officiate with burial to follow in the Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon.
Dan Baumgarten passed away late Thursday evening, November 7, 2019 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Jean, Lemmon, SD; three sons, Chad (Celena) Baumgarten, Lemmon, SD, and Delvin and Lance Baumgarten; three daughters, Danelle (Kelly) Walker, Miles City, MT, Kaylyn and Stephen Barker, Aberdeen, NC and LaRae Baumgarten, Lemmon, SD; grandchildren, Drew (Taylor Jones) Senger, Jaden Senger, Jax Walker, Lyndse (Jacob) Shockley, Brandi (Ben Stoddard) Baumgarten, Preston Baumgarten, Elijah Baumgarten, Kylie Baumgarten, Aleyna Baumgarten, Stephen Barker, Isabella Barker, Kalice, Tashena, Carter and Alexander; one great-granddaughter, Mia Schockley; sister, Beverly (Jay) Erchul, Hot Springs, MT; sister-in-law, Mary Baumgarten, Rapid City, SD; half-sister, Esther Carmichael, Lemmon, SD; and numerous nieces and one nephew.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harry Baumgarten; one sister, Rosella Baumgarten in infancy; and one great-nephew, Riley Baumgarten.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, SD.
